Over the past few months, my family and I did something epic: we watched the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe β every movie and Disney+ series β together, in release order. It started out as a fun idea to revisit some old favorites, but it quickly became one of the most meaningful family bonding experiences we’ve had in years.
π‘ Why It Was Totally Worth It
Watching the MCU as a family wasnβt just about explosions and superheroes β it was about connection. Hereβs why we loved every minute of it:
- Shared excitement: Everyone had a favorite hero (and villain), which sparked a lot of cheering and debating.
- Emotional impact: We all got misty-eyed during EndGame and Wakanda Forever β even the teens tried to play it cool.
- Meaningful conversations: The Disney+ shows especially led to great discussions about timelines, identity, justice, and even grief.
- Fun for all ages: Whether it was the humor of Thor: Ragnarok or the depth of Moon Knight, there was something for everyone.
- Rediscovery and nostalgia: The kids saw these stories for the first time, and we saw them with new eyes through their reactions.

Now that weβve finished (for now), weβre already planning to rewatch our favorites and excitedly looking forward to whatβs next in the MCU.
