Who I Am

Helping You Make Sense of Tech — Without the Headaches

Mike the IT Guy

I’ve spent years helping local businesses and everyday folks get their tech running smoothly. Whether it’s cleaning up a messy setup, boosting security, or just making things easier to use, I’m all about finding solutions that actually work for you — not just what looks good on paper.
Along the way, I’ve worked with tons of entrepreneurs and small teams, helping them stay online, stay secure, and stay focused on what they do best. My goal is always the same: give you straightforward, reliable help that fits your needs — no cookie-cutter plans, no tech snobbery, just honest support that gets results.

What I Believe In — and What You Can Expect from Me

My Mission

My goal is simple: help people make the most of their tech without the stress. Whether you’re running a business or just trying to keep your home setup working, I’m here to make sure your systems are secure, efficient, and working the way you need them to.

My Values

I believe in being honest, dependable, and always looking for better ways to solve problems. I don’t believe in overcomplicating things — I’ll explain everything in plain language and work with you to find solutions that actually make your life easier. At the end of the day, it’s about building real relationships and being someone you can count on when tech gets tricky.

My Journey

How It All Started — and Where I Am Today

I’ve been working with computers since long before Apple and Microsoft became household names — back when getting online meant dialing up through a modem and hoping no one picked up the phone. I even ran my own BBS (Bulletin Board System) on a Pentium 100 PC I built from scratch — and that’s where my love for tech and helping people really took root.

In college, I’d often spend late nights tinkering, building systems, and figuring things out just for the fun of it. I wasn’t doing it for a paycheck — I was just genuinely curious and passionate about learning how it all worked.

Before Mike the IT Guy officially launched, I operated under a different name — Web Hosting DSM. That was my first official step into the tech world, and I ran with it until the DBA expired in 2023. From there, I rebranded as Mike the IT Guy (MTITG) and have been moving full speed ahead, offering personalized IT help to people and small businesses. I’m also proud to support amazing local businesses like Kalami Kitchen as part of what I do.

Today, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Security, professional IT certifications, and over 20 years of hands-on experience. Most importantly, I’m someone you can trust with your tech — whether it’s protecting your data, setting up systems, or just getting things running the way they should.
